It doesn’t look very hopeful outside and, with forecasters talking about a 100 percent chance of rain this afternoon, there doesn’t seem like there’s much hope softball will be played.
But, to quote the famous Annie, the sun will come out tomorrow — that is, according to the aforementioned forecasters.
So here’s an early look at Wednesday’s slate:
Clarkstown South at Clarkstown North, 11 a.m.
Hen Hud at Lourdes, 11 a.m. (Machgee Road Field)
John Jay-East Fishkill at Brewster, 11 a.m.
Somers at Yorktown, 11 a.m.
Tappan Zee at Pelham, 12 p.m.
Valhalla at North Rockland, 12 pm.
Mount Vernon at Saunders, 4 p.m. (Glover Field)
Edgemont at Palisade Prep, 4:15 p.m. (War Memorial Park)
Magnus at Ardsley, 4:30 p.m.
Gorton at Nyack, 4:30 p.m. (Upper Nyack Elementary)
Fingers crossed that Tuesday’s forecast is wrong. But it seems like a better day for watching some classic videos, rather than playing a classic game. Here are some rainy-day suggestions: The Natural, Field of Dreams, Eight Men Out, Bull Durham, The Bad News Bears, and, of course, A League of Their Own.
Other suggestions are much welcome.
