Hattie Schnorr did her part.
And while it might have taken them a bit of time to get going, so did her teammates.
Hastings, down by four runs entering the bottom of the sixth, defeated visiting Irvington 7-6 on Billie White’s one-out, walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh.
Schnorr picked up the win, going the distance, striking out nine and giving up two earned runs.
Irvington’s Sonya Fowler and Taryn Grande each had an RBI as the Bulldogs pulled out in front.
The Bulldogs came right back as Carly Kurland’s sacrifice fly scored Sarina Stein.
Then came White’s heroics. With runners on first and third and one out, she laced the ball to right, scoring Rosalie Harpur-Reid, who pinch-ran for Shannon Comerford, who’d also singled to right.
