Here’s a look at the day in Section 1 softball:
Valhalla 3, Rye 2, 9: At Valhalla, Brandi Coon (above) had an RBI to drive in Kaylie Dymek in the bottom of the ninth inning. Coon had two doubles. Teammate Jenna Saldi had two RBI for the Vikings. Maya Fitzgerald and Amanda Yannett each scored for the Wildcats.
Brewster 2, Somers 0: At Somers, Frankie Merkel and Shannon Sommer each drove in a run in the top of the seventh inning to give the Bears the lead. Alycia Fenney pitched a four-hitter, allowing a walk and struck out 14. Katie Gall allowed two runs, nine hits, a walk and struck out three for the Tuskers.
Mahopac 3, Kennedy 2: At Kennedy, Dariana Wagman went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI for the Indians.. Alexia Faulkner allowed two earned runs, six hits, four walks, and eight strikeouts for the Indians. Patrice Grande went 2 for 4 with a stolen base and an RBI for the Gaels. Teammate Molly Feeney allowed two earned runs, 11 hits, and struck out two.
White Plains 8, Scarsdale 4: At Scarsdale, Briana Chapman was 3 for 4 with an RBI for the Tigers. Sarah Carrier added two RBI. Sarah Weintraub had two RBI for the Raiders.
Hastings 9, Yonkers Montessori 5: At Yonkers Montessori, Dana Brandes-Simon had two RBI. Rachel Eisenberg had a double, a triple and a RBI for the Yellow Jackets. Liliana Tineo had two RBI for the Eagles.
North Rockland 9, Clarkstown North 2: At North Rockland, Jackie Salvaggi had two RBI for the Red Raiders. Madison Knipl (left), Caitlyn Gore and Amanda Schweitzer had an RBI each. Sam Weiss doubled and Ashley Lew was 3 for 4 for Clarkstown North.
Nyack 4, Nanuet 3: At Nyack, Jenna Lane had an RBI in the bottom of the seventh to drive in Tiffany Salcito. Salcito also had two doubles. Teammate Megan Sneeden had a double and two RBI. Mackenzie Johnson had 10 strikeouts in the win. Alana Prosapio had an RBI for the Golden Knights.
Keio 6, Blind Brook 1: At Keio, Sayury Oshima singled with two outs in the seventh inning to drive in Kanako Bano for the winning run. Bano also doubled. Gabriella Lynch and Sarah Carmona each had a double and an RBI for the Trojans.
Mamaroneck 19, Mount Vernon 1, 5: At Mamaroneck, Kimi Chiapparelli tripled, homered and drove in four runs, Zoe Schmitt homered and drove in three runs and Jen Gottfried homered and drove in two runs. Gottfried struck out eight and allowed three hits. Kelly Howell homered for the Knights.
Clarkstown South 11, East Ramapo 2: At Spring Valley, Sara Herskowitz homered and drove in three runs. Briana Keaveney scattered seven hits over seven innings to earn the win. Deangie Jimenez tripled and drove in a run for the Titans.
Tuckahoe 18, Woodlands 2: At Woodlands, Casey Stevko had a home run and three RBI. Winning pitcher Cassie McGrath (right) had two doubles and four RBI. Alexis Kargbo added three RBI for the Tigers. Katie Sims had a double and two RBI for the Falcons.
Pearl River 12, Albertus Magnus 0: At Pearl River, Mandy McCarthy went 2 for 5 with a triple and drove in four runs. Winning pitcher Caroline Kardashian went 3 for 4 with a double and had an RBI. Julie Marsico and Sam Alicandri each drove in two.
Irvington 22, Palisade Prep 7, 5: At Irvington, Taylor Clewell went 3 for 5 and drove in five runs.
Saunders 19, Woodlands 0, 5: At Saunders Wednesday, Corrina Ortiz had three RBI. Amanda Kiriakos had two RBI.
Nyack 14, Lincoln 1: At Nyack Wednesday, winning pitcher Michaela Contreras struck out 14. Megan Sneeden went 3 for 4 with two triples and three RBI. Dominique Meara also had three RBI. Emily Stewart drove in Lincoln’s run.
Rye 21, Blind Brook 8: At Blind Brook Wednesday, Kelsey Chapderlane had a home run and three RBI. Catherine Livingston had a double and three RBI. Emily Antinozzi had a double and two RBI. Blind Brook’s Christine Santasiero had three RBI.
Yonkers Montessori 10, Irvington 9: At Yonkers Montessori Wednesday, Ashley Suarez drove in Jennifer Jimenez with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Eagles. Winning pitcher Brianna Murphy went 4 for 4 and drove in two runs. Teammate Melanie Boine had a double, a home run, and three RBI. Serena Stein had two doubles and three RBI for the Bulldogs. Teammate Christina Galgano had three RBI.
North Salem 17, Peekskill 2, 5: At North Salem Wednesday, Anastasia Pennacchio went 2 for 3 with a triple and had three RBI. Pennacchio allowed two runs, three hits, and struck out three in five innings for the win. Natasha Capozzelli had a double and two RBI for the Red Devils.
Tappan Zee 7, Clarkstown North 4: At Tappan Zee Wednesday, Kelly Connolly (left) went 3 for 3 with two doubles and two RBI for the Dutchies. Dee Sinanaj went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBI. Teammate Paulina Gutkin took the win allowing eight hits, two walks and struck out 12. Chinyere Oti went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI for the Rams. Teammate Stefanie Lomedico had a home run and two RBI.
Edgemont 26, Palisade Prep 7: At Palisade Prep Wednesday, Sam Faden, Halle Lukasiewicz, Kayla Kuschman and Claire Brennan homered for the Panthers. Faden had seven RBI and Kuschman and Brennan had three RBI apiece. Palisade Prep’s Kayle Cortinas homered twice and had six RBI.
Ursuline 18, New Rochelle 1: At Ursuline Wednesday, Brittany Mitchell allowed one earned run, eight hits, and struck out 10 to get the win and secure the Conference II-League B title. She went 4 for 6 and drove in two runs. Essence Savinon went 3 for 5 with a solo home run, and scored three times. Rebecca Karlin scored the run for the Huguenots.
Horace Greeley 22, Hamilton 0, 5: At Horace Greeley Wednesday, Jamie Weisser went 2 for 2 scoring four runs and driving in six. Leslie Jobloner went 2 for 3 and drove in four runs.
Brewster 11, Somers 0: At Brewster Wednesday, Brittany Deiseo went 2 for 4 with a triple and had three RBI. Winning pitcher Sammy Chiudina drove in three runs. Kathleen Olifiers had a triple for the Tuskers.
Lakeland 14, Yorktown 9: At Yorktown Wednesday, Steph Scala homered twice and drove in four runs. Alexandra Wright homered and drove in three runs, while Jessica Barretta homered and drove in a run. Kayla Michelson homered and drove in four runs and Kristie O’Connell and Megan Cole each drove in two for the Huskers.
Eastchester 10, Sleepy Hollow 1: At Sleepy Hollow Wednesday, winning pitcher Danielle Cacciola had a three-run homer and pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts. Teammate Christina Zaccardi had two RBI.
Rye 18, Keio 2: At Rye Wednesday, Maya Fitzgerald went 2 for 2 with two home runs and three RBI. Amanda Yannett and Catherine Livingston each went 3 for 3 with three RBI. Ayane Maeda had a RBI for the Unicorns.
Byram Hills 7, Blind Brook 0: At Byram Hills Wednesday, Ally Lichten pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven for the win. She had a two-run triple. Lindsay Pelinger had an RBI triple. Christine Santasriero had the lone hit for the Trojans and it was a double.
Sacred Heart 16, Harvey 6: At Harvey Wednesday, Hannah Paul had a triple and an RBI. Brittany Sullivan had two stolen bases and an RBI.
