Better late than never but I can now announce that former Horace Greeley star Maddy Coon and former Eastchester coach Tom “Skip” Walsh will be apart of the of the 2013 class of the High School Hall of Fame Inductees.
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday June 15th at 4:15 pm. at the Mudville Softball Complex in Herkimer.
Congratulations to two former Section 1 standouts.
Also part of the 2013 class is US Army Major Carolyn Carden (formerly Copcut) of Minisink Valley and PoJos Dan Pietrafasa.

First off, welcome back Debbie !! – Secondly, congrats to both Maddy and Coach Walsh on their induction in the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame. Their respective High School careers at both Horace Greeley and Eastchester were outstanding. Adding both Maddy and Coach Walsh, to last year’s Section 1 inductions of Bonnie Bell, Coach Shaw and Tara DiMaggio, just shows how really good Section 1 Softball has historically been
PS – Also a hearty congratulations to Major Carolyn Carden (formally Copcutt) of Minsink Valley High School out of Section 9 and Dan Pietrafasa of the Poughkeepsie Journal. I played against Carolyn when she played for the Diamond Dolls during summer ball play a long long time ago.
