As a side note, it is announced that Tony Toronto will step down from his position as the Section 1 coordinator. As a person who has known the man for a long time, he will truly be missed. The first scholarship award was named in his honor.

Does anybody know if the all league selections are available for viewing?
Just wanted to say Thank you to Debbie for a great 4 years of covering the teams. I am a parent of a senior and am going to miss your fantastic reviews and postings. Thank you again I know that’s not an easy job to do.
Debbie – First, also agree that you do a great job. Secondly, did the section honor Tara DiMaggio, Bonnie Bell and Mr. Shaw at last nights awards banquet? And, finally, did they announce who is replacing Coach Toronto as sectional administrator?

With all the typing I did that night; I was remiss to leave out that Bill Shaw and Bonnie Bell were both in attendance last night and spoke at the dinner. Tara DiMaggio was invited but she could make the dinner.
Regarding Coach Toronto, no name has come up.
Parent and Hallie, I appreciate the kind words. I have a lot of fun covering the HS softball season and I look forward to next season.

4thelucofsball – yeah, I didn’t notice that until I read your post. maybe this was omission from the list that Debbie provided above. DEBBIE: can you let us know about Amanda Gisonni? (This has to just be her name missing from the listing. I don’t think she lost a game pitching this entire season, which would make for back to back undefeated pitching seasons. I also believe that she was a 1st team all state player last year, but may be wrong)
There was no omission Hallie and 4theluvofsball, last year’s AA state player of the year Amanda Gisonni was not on the all-section list at all. Much to a lot of people’s surprise. Talked with coach Bonnie Schilling for like half of a second last night but I was surprised. I sat right next to Bill Shaw and he was surprised.

come on, i was at the dinner last nite and i could NOT believe she did not make the all section team. I hope this is not another case of the a coach and player not getting along. She was the class AA player of the year in 2011. Max Bruckner from harrison, their #1 pitcher on the class A section champs did not make all section. things like this should not happen. surprised and i don’t know why cannot suffice in these instances.
shame on the coach for not nominating her.. she would have been a fine candidate for the diamond 9 award.. very bright kid.. and she pitched the last part of her season with mono.. all for the team very selfless individual..
