Ok folks – Here are my Semi Final Predictions:
Class AA
No. 5 Carmel at No. 1 John Jay-East Fiskhill, 4:30 p.m.
John Jay East Fishkill is on an historic roll, with Amanda Giasonne and Company playing a great brand of softball. Carmel has had a nice run of it lately, but it will be TOO MUCH Lady Patriot Softball for the Lady Rams to handle
FINAL SCORE: John Jay (East Fishkill) 6, Carmel 2
No. 3 Clarkstown South at No. 2 Ketcham, 4:30 p.m.
If Casey Herzog can pitch a game like she did when she and RC Ketcham faced Cicero North Syracuse up at the Morabito earlier this month, I would say that I would like the Lady Indian’s chances allot. For Clarkstown South to win, they need to get on the board early and often and then have to be able to hold the lead late in the game. Also, the Lady Vikings need an outstanding effort on the mound by Brittney Montana. My feeling is that South will find a way to make it happen.
FINAL SCORE: Clarkstown South 3, RC Ketcham 2
Class A
No. 8 Beacon at No. 5 Tappan Zee, 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs shocked the section by knocking off the 4 time defending champs. Can they do this again to The Lady Dutchmen? Possibly? Beacon is a very dangerous team and can’t be taken lightly. If Paulina Gutkin can continue to throw the way she has over the past couple of games, TZ has a great shot at winning this game. I think Paulina will rise to the occassion.
FINAL SCORE: Tappan Zee 5, Beacon 3
No. 7 Brewster at No. 3 Ursuline, 4:30 p.m.
I liked Ursuline to make it to the finals from the beginning of sectionals and I will not stop now. Coach Pirrone and the Lady Koalas are hitting the ball very well right now. The key for them is to get “Consistant” pitching. If they can they should win
FINAL SCORE: Ursuline 7, Brewster 4
Class B
No. 4 Dobbs Ferry at No. 1 Rye Neck, 4:30 p.m.
Jessica Calvini has had a GREAT SEASON and will not allow it to end just yet. Too much Lady Panthers for Dobbs Ferry to handle.
FINAL SCORE: Rye Neck 4, Dobbs Ferry 0
No. 6 Kennedy at No. 2 Valhalla, 4:30 p.m.
This game will be a “Barn Burning/High Scoring Affair” with the score going back n’ forth, until one team makes that CRITICAL ERROR. That critical error will be made by JF Kennedy
FINAL SCORE: Valhalla 9, JF Kennedy 8
Class C Finals
No. 3 Haldane vs. No. 1 Solomon Schechter at Nanuet High School, 4:30 p.m.
The overall sectional experience that Haldane has will prove to be too much for Solomon Schechter to be able deal with. Solomon Schechter will NOT be able to score 32 runs on Haldane, not to say that they will be able score enough runs to beat them, period
FINAL SCORE: Haldane 7, Solomon Schechter 4
What does that mean JFK will make a critical error? That’s a poor choice of words to describe your belief that Valhalla will play a tighter game than the Gaels, really. JFK is on fire, after a 21-0 victory it’s pretty bold to say they will make a game losing critical error.
Also, it’s Gisonni – thank you!
Looking forward to Debbie’s predictions this morning (Debbie – we are now tied for our predictions for 2012)
No predictions yet from Debbie—she is slipping! Hoping the JFK-Valhalla game at least gets mentioned somewhere since JFK 21-0 win over Bronxville went unreported.
Just saw Hallies “predictions” my bet is Debbie is smart enough to pick JFK and open up an even bigger lead
