Here’s my take on how things will go this afternoon:
Class AA
John Jay-EF vs. Union-Endicott (Section 4): Union-Endicott is a scrappy team. This is how they won their Section 4 title (From Press Connects): U-E rallies past Corning But if you really think about it and have followed John Jay-EF especially in the playoffs, the Patriots have been playing solid ball. They didn’t hit as well as they did against Ursuline in the state semifinals but that’s the beauty of how good they are. Amanda Gisonni is pitching really well. This game will be a tight game. Prediction: John Jay-EF 5, Union-Endicott 4
Class A
Pearl River vs. Elmira Free Academy (Section 4): Here’s how Elmira won their Section 4 title (from the Press Connects): EFA Hustles way past M-E for another Sectional Softball title After reading that, I realized that they are a scrappy team. The play that was discussed in the story, I don’t know if the umps got the call wrong or what, but EFA took advantage. The last time the Pirates played a regional final game at Nanuet; they won. If the Pirates play their game, they’ll be going back to the state final four. Prediction: Pearl River 5, Elmira Free Academy 4

Here are my predictions
Class AA
John Jay-EF vs. Union-Endicott (Section 4):
Actuially, this game should have been Corning vs. John Jay EF, but Corning, upon by blowing a 6 run lead late in the game, due to what I feel was “looking past UE” and eventually losing the game. But, Union-Endicott is there, but I feel that John Jay EF is better coached and will play a solid game. Not as close as some may think

Class A
Pearl River vs. Elmira Free Academy (Section 4):
EFA will be no compeition for Pearl River, who will easily ride this one this afternoon. Pearl River’s path to a State Class A Title will go thru South Glens Falls HS out of Section 2

OMG – “HUGE UPSET” in States. Farmingdale out of Section 8 ‘beat’ previously undefeated Bay Shore HS out of Section 11, 2-0 in the State Regional Final out in Long Island

John Jay EF will now go on and play Farmingdale (Section 8) in the State Class AA Semi Finals on Saturday (the other Class AA Semi Finals will be Cicero North Syracuse (Section 3) vs. Niagara-Wheatfield (Section 6). It “Could” end up to be a “Rematch” in the State Class AA Finals between John Jay (EF) and CNS (both teams play that great Morabito Tournament Semi Finals game this year, that JJEF was winning 4-2 in the 7th, before CNS came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win it)
