OK… it was my day off today and what a day in softball. Here’s the look at a Friday around Section 1.
White Plains 3, Scarsdale 0: At White Plains, Lauren Sputo had a perfect game with 14 strikeouts. Stephanie Hodapp, Jamie Klotz, and Christy Reina each had an RBI.
Hackley 2, Riverdale Country Day 1: At Riverdale Country Day, Krista Lancione allowed just three hits with 11 strikeouts. Katherine Connolly had three hits.
North Rockland 1, Tappan Zee 0, 10: At Tappan Zee, with International Rules being used in the 10th inning, Destiny Jones had an RBI single that scored the winning run Caitlyn Reilly. Krystn Benson allowed just two hits with a walk and struck out 15. Tayla Gardner had nine strikeouts for the Dutchies.
Holy Child 21, Rye Country Day 3: At Rye Country Day, Chloe Giordano had a home run and four RBI. Monica Mureb had four hits including a triple and Alaina Cipollone doubled twice with five RBI.
New Rochelle 10, Lincoln 2: At New Rochelle, Angela Trozza drove in four runs and Colleen Moriarty had a home run.
Rye Neck 11, Blind Brook 1: At Rye Neck, in her first career win, Nikole Morgan threw a no-hitter. The lone run for the Trojans was scored on a ground ball out. Georgia Richardson went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBI to lead the Panthers.
Sleepy Hollow 7, Irvington 2: At Sleepy Hollow, Jamie Bucci threw a one-hitter and had three RBI. Lizzi Vogel had the lone hit for the Bulldogs which came in the third inning.
John Jay-EF 5, Clarkstown South 1: At Clarkstown South, Sam McDonald went 3 for 3 for the Vikings.
Westlake 6, Croton-Harmon 5: At Croton-Harmon, Tina Karaqi went 3 for 4 with a home run, double, and four RBI. Lauren Birkelbach went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Nicole Goldberg doubled and had two RBI for the Tigers.
Edgemont 16, Roosevelt 1, 6: At Edgemont, winning pitcher Kara Freedman allowed no hits with 13 strikeouts in six innings and also had two RBI at the plate. Victoria Catrini added two RBI.
Hastings 15, Woodlands 0, 5: At Hastings, Kaitlyn Saydam allowed just one hit in five innings with five strikeouts. Kristen DeSouza and Kim Malise each had three RBI. Julia Salinaro had two hits and two RBI.
Albertus Magnus 5, Arlington 1: At Arlington, Nicole Paciello threw a three-hitter and Melissa Place went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI.
