That’s a great message to send. You’re not good enough to win, so don’t even bother trying….. Before the game everyone would have said that the USA soccer team was not good enough to beat Spain (the #1 ranked team in the world). It’s a good thing they bothered playing.

Seeing the talent level of the other teams would be an inspiration to the girls of MV, not an embarassment. They would see what girls their age could do, with hard work, and help and inspiration from their parents and coaches.

its as wrong as it gets. The President of the MVLL (a woman, no less) just doesnt want the girls to play…..over the objections of coaches, players and parents.

good girls, trying hard to stay off the mean streets of Mt Vernon…...to be told they are not good enough and will not be allowed to play.

the saddest part is that the MVLL team would be made of a number of girls who play travel ball in other towns, and they would be good.

Why can’t they play in the LL Tournament? I did not read the article in the JN. Was it a financial issue? If that was the case, then the kids need to get out there and fund raise to come up with the funding to allow them to move forward. If it is another reason, that is OUTSIDE of the control of these young girls, then that is downright WRONG

you should start a blog entry about the Mt Vernon Little League girls who are being told they cant play in the LL tourney, as reported on page 3 of yesterdays Journal News.

a public outcry could still get the MV girls into the LL tourney…..there is a slot waiting for them in a double elimination tourney!!!!
