In NR’s win their Senior leaders stepped up, Sami Welsh, Amanda Babcock and Heather Hansen. Should be a tough rematch vs Scarsdale next round.
4 of the 8 teams left, White Plains, Ursuline, Scarsdale, and New Rochelle are all from the same league. That says alot about the league they play in.
I agree slapper. We had quite the dog fights in our group this year. Congrats on the win today.
Alot of good pitching in the Section, should be alot of low scoring games in the following rounds.
Anyone know anything about the Lincoln – Carmel game?
One highlight from the New Ro vs Ketcham game was the triple play pulled off by New Ro in the top of the 6th. The score was 2 to 1 in favor of Ketcham. There were runners on second and third. Ground ball got the runner on first. Runner on second broke for third was tagged out. Runner on third broke for home and was tagged out sliding into home.
It was the turning point of the game. Bottom of the 6th, Rachel Galluzzo hit a “shot” over the left fielder for a two run homer. It was an exciting finish.
Lincoln at Carmel Saturday
Rachel Galluzzo has been great throughout her 5 year varsity career at New Rochelle. Congrats on the win.
