I was over at Albertus Magnus and the game is now a final. The Falcons win 2-1 over the Rams.
I’ll post my reaction and recap after I write the game story.

    some other scores:

    Arlington 5, Lakeland 0
    JJEF 1, Ursuline 0
    Scarsdale 14, Suffern 4

If you go to a game at Lakeland, bring bug spray and allergy medication. But the Lakeland fans are very friendly and hospitable!

    Thomas Paine,

That Scarsdale score is wrong. Scarsdale won 6-3 over Suffern.

Sorry. My daughter got it from a friend on the Suffern team. Hard to believe they could get it that wrong.

    North Rockland 2 – Yorktown 0

Game was close. Yorktown had a chance in the second when their first batter hit a lead-off double and got to third with no outs. But Welsh then struck out the side to end the threat. Welsh also got out of a first and second with no outs and a bases loaded situation. NR hit the ball well, but only scratched out a couple of runs late in the game. Yorktown played solid D with no errors to keep them in the game (Yorktown pitcher Farmer deserves credit for keeping NR in check). In the 7th, Yorktown had the tieing runs on, but Welsh got a K and a fly to right to end the game.

Sam Welsh is off to a great start offensively and in the circle. The NR seniors are playing well and leading this team to a nice start.
