High school softball in the Lower Hudson Valley

John Jay-EF, Arlington and RC Ketcham records

May
15

Fans, do not go by Varsity Central for these three teams because they are not in our coverage and all of their games do not appear on Varsity Central.

The best way to find out their records is through the Poughkeepsie Journal or through the respective coaches. However, we don’t know if the records are accurate because there are times when games are not reported to the paper.

Also, when one of the area teams plays one of these three teams, sometimes the home (area) coach does not get their record.

We will know for sure what their respective records are at the sectional seeding meeting on the 28th.

Tony … BIG GAME on Friday Eastchester 18-1 @ Pearl River 18-1. Is Pearl River a “B” school for sectionals ? If so this could be a preview of the Sectional Finals.

Actually, don’t go by what’s in the Poughkeepsie Journal, which is notoriously inaccurate, particularly in their HS sports coverage.

    Joe B. –
Pearl River and Eastchester are both Class A schools for sectionals.

Should have realized that. I remember TZ beating both PR & Eastchester last year in the 1/4 and semis. So this could possibly be a preview of the A finals. I would think the winner will be the top seed in A.

    Tony:

I see you’re still smiling. Im looking at the Poughkeepsie Journal right now and Ketcham is 14-4-1 after defeating White Plains in the Bisaccia Tournament Consolation Game at Ketcham.

Too bad it’s not in your area, there were three state-ranked teams (FDR, RCK, New Paltz)in the tourney.

    Enjoy the Memorial Day Weekend.
