Rockland News: Suffern suffers only second loss of the season

Despite sloppy play in the first inning; Clarkstown North hands Suffern only their second loss of the season winning 6-5 over at Clarkstown North. This brings the Mounties to a 2-1 record within the highly competitive 1-B league.
Jaime Roosa had a strong offensive day going 2 for 2 with two RBI. Vicky Atzl and Jordan Kapnick went a combined 3 for 7 and had two RBI. Jen Proietti-Fox, Catrina Delgais, and Jess Crowley went a combined 3 for 12 and had three RBI. Delgais allowed six runs, nine hits, two walks and struck out seven which brings her sectional lead to 133 strikeouts.

In other Rockland News, Brittni Alexander went 2 for 2 with three walks, had two RBI, and five stolen bases in the win over Fox Lane. Those five stolen bases give her 26 for the season and puts her second in the section. Her teammate Kayla Meyer gets the offensive award of the day going 2 for 3 with two doubles and had four RBI. … Albertus Magnus played Beacon in the championship game of the Beacon tournament and won 9-5. Erin Flaherty went 2 for 5 and had two RBI. Her teammates Christina Emeigh and Jackie Kelly went a combined 4 for 9 with two doubles and had two RBI.
