HALLIE LYNHART....Yorktown, based upon their first real test, today, appears to be the force to be dealt with, as advertised early in the pre-season. North Rockland was a formable opponent and not a push over in any sense of the equation. There will be more tests ahead for Yorktown, with teams like Hen Hud, Beacon and Brewster within Section 1. Then towards the end of the season, they will match up against the likes of Minisink Valley of Section 9, Webster-Schroeder out of Section 5, then probably Victor out of Section 5, and then, maybe even the ulimate test against Cicero North Syracuse out of Section 3, who appeats so far to be the team to beat in the State in Class AA. For Cassie and Company, so far so good. YOU PUT THE KISS OF DEATH ON TEAMS.

BALLFIELDER...See Cassie and her teammates are back in good form and ready to take the AA section again! Anyone know who has the best shot of knocking them off this year! As of right now I don’t see anyone who has both the pitching and hitting to keep up with them. DO YOU STILL FEEL THE SAME ABOUT YORKTOWN ?

Dear Tony, I am the proud parent of Marianna Monaco who goes to Yonkers Middle in Yonkers. She is a seventh grader and I am pleased to say that she plays on the varsity team. She is an amazing pitcher. She also plays first base when she is not pitching. We have our other pitcher, Michelle Smith, who is a senior. I think that you will be hearing alot about my daughter over the next 6 years. Maybe you can come to one of the games to witness her pitching. Thank You for taking the time to read this. Val Monaco
