Great season Albertus Magnus

Albertus Magnus deserves a big hand, despite a 1-0 regional semi-final loss to Marlboro. Erin Flaherty was on her game once again, tossing a three-hitter and striking out three. Unfortunately, the Marlboro windmiller was equal to the task.
In her last three post-season games, Flaherty allowed two runs and seven hits. Albertus Magnus had another solid game defensively also.
It’s a shame someone had to be eliminated in this game. Despite the loss, Albertus Magnus had a fantastics season and is probably already looking ahead to next year and defending its title.
Congratulations to all the girls, especially the five seniors – Meaghan Bradley, Nora Chivelly, Kayla Cornish, Kristen Trancynger and Marisa Zemsky, who will graduate with a sectional title.

Great game. AS was said in another blog. This was No ” Run Away ” game for Marlboro. Excellent pitching from both sides.AM played great defense. How much fun would it be to see these two teams play a best of 5. Congrats to AM on a entertaining and wonderful season
wow congrats falcons being sections champions it is truly amazing. lady falcons really came out time and time again proving that the underdogs was something they shouldn’t be considered. i really can’t wait to see these girls in the future and i cant wait to see what the senior’s do at their colleges…Go Falcons
The Albertus Magnus Varsity Softball team had a wonderful 2007 season. As a parent of one of the seniors, it was extra special to win the Section I title. In addition to Erin Flaherty’s contribution, and that of pitcher Maura Power during regular season play, the other members of the team should be commended for their efforts. The combined talents of Shannon Koesterer, Kelly McGuire, Molly Meehan, Ann Sheeran, Colleen Smith, and Alyssa Valente contributed to Albertus’ overall record. With coaches D’Alba and Meehan,
they will be a force to reckon with next year.
Tony, good to see you still in the game writing great articles. It was always fun when you’d be at the games, as we knew we had a shot at gettig some ink. If the web articles were up and around back in 1993, I’d have beat Lakeland and we’d have gone on to the States.
Hope all is good with you and yours, keep up the fantastic work.
You should really write an article on the MSBL, it’s a stickball league for the tristate area. We’re losing guys, have gone from 40-50 teams 10 years ago, to 20 today. It’s fast pitch, no BS. Old Westchester baseball stars such as Jimmy Wendling and Scott Gaska, NJ All County Yurchak brothers that can hit 80 mph, and many more guys are out there every weekend.
